About

Compassionate help with no judgment

The strongest predictor of success in therapy is a good relationship between you and your therapist, which is why I prioritize creating a positive therapeutic relationship and centering you in our work. Using empathy and humor, I foster a warm and supportive therapeutic environment, free from judgment, where you can safely grow and achieve your goals. After over 15 years working in high volume agencies, I built a practice that is intentionally small, allowing me to provide highly personalized, responsive, and flexible care. I aim to accommodate same or next-day appointment requests and can be available for between-session coaching/skills reinforcement for those who desire additional support. This approach is appreciated by people with variable or demanding schedules, those whose need for support may fluctuate, people interested in intensive treatment, and people who desire additional coaching “in the moment” to support their goals. Being an insurance-free practice also provides increased privacy for those I serve, allowing us to work together without the requirement of a formal diagnosis and with no risk that your insurance company will deny services or have access to your therapy record. As a clinical psychologist dually licensed in NY and MA, I specialize in trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and family therapy with clients across the lifespan. With nearly 20 years of experience providing therapy, supervision, and program leadership, I have developed several specialties in my work, which include: Individual Therapy I help people heal from difficult, sometimes traumatic, experiences and equip them with tools to help them build a more balanced life. I support individuals who have lived through a range of difficult circumstances, including abuse/neglect in family or other relationships, gaslighting and manipulation, oppressive work situations and burnout, parental addiction or mental illness, and more. Individuals learn skills to better care for themselves, create healthy boundaries with others, respect boundaries set by others, and balance extremes in emotions, thinking, and behavior. Family Therapy *Reunification/Repair: Helping families heal from separation or estrangement resulting from abuse/neglect, caregiver incarceration, parental alienation, mental illness, and more. Work typically involves meeting with each involved member of the family first separately, and eventually together, to therapeutically work through the circumstances leading to the family disruption, acknowledge wrong-doings when appropriate, and create a healthy and safe path forward for the relationships. *Navigating Divorce/Separation: Therapeutic guidance for those planning or in the process of divorce/separation focused on creating healthy boundaries and communication with your former partner, how to talk to your children along the way, and how to effectively co-parent. This work can set your family up for long-term success. *Families Impacted by Mental Illness: Whether it’s a parent or child, a family member’s experience with mental illness can have wide ranging effects on those who love them. Work with these families focuses on finding balance in the family whether that involves re-establishing healthy roles in the family, increasing empathy and understanding among family members, or enhancing safety and boundaries. Parent Coaching *Co-parenting *Parenting children/teens with behavioral challenges *Survivors of childhood trauma/poor parenting Clinical Supervision and Consultation to Therapists Throughout my training and career, I have been blessed with many incredibly supportive and knowledgeable supervisors and mentors…and some who were…not. Supporting other therapists along their professional paths is an honor and a professional passion for me. For nearly 20 years, I've trained, mentored, and supervised clinicians from various disciplines and across experience levels, from master's students to APA doctoral interns to licensed clinicians. In supervision, my areas of specialty are managing risk, building sustainability/guarding against burn-out, working effectively within systems and with parents, and empowering supervisees to strengthen their clinical and professional voices. Similar to my therapeutic approach, I aim to build a safe and supportive environment where you feel safe to take clinical risks, ask any question, process your experiences, and focus on your professional goals. If you’re looking for additional support for your practice, seeking additional knowledge in one of my specialty areas, or want someone to touch base with as you start out on your own, feel free to reach out for a complimentary consultation. Whatever your needs, I'm happy you're here and I'm honored to help you.
